PALISADES FIRE OUTREACH
With 900 successful projects worldwide, "Connecting people to the Art of Living" has always been our mission. This was true during the Woolsey fire, as our small in-house team personally rebuilt ourselves and many others, and it is never more true today as we look at the destruction of the Pacific Palisades fire. Apel Design was the leader of the Woolsey fire rebuild being the first home rebuilt and recognized for their partnership with the county for helping to pave the route for many others. Having architectural, engineering, construction, financial, accounting, legal, entitlement, real estate, and project management expertise, we have all the abilities and knowledge in-house to help rebuild, and Apel Design knows firsthand how to navigate the difficulties and pitfalls, scams, and hurdles involved with this process. As an exclusive local Malibu development studio, Apel Design team has decided to open our doors to a limited amount of cases to help our community.

THE AVIATOR
Conceptually, Apel Design wanted to create the notion that the architecture of building continues beyond. In a sense, the forms flow throughout and never stop. The architecture forms emerge from the ground, extends to the horizon and divides into two beautiful irregular volumetric elements as if the architecture was slicing the space, emphasizing the gorgeous views of the Malibu mountains and the Pacific Ocean. The bird-like building program also incorporates the ideas of flow and continuation; the first level proposes an open floor plan with a glass facade that opens up the space to a beautiful deck and a second floor for bedrooms that are elevated from the ground to again emphasize this notion of flow and lightness.
